Who is Elisa Lam?
Elisa Lam is a 21-year-old Canadian student of the University of British Columbia. She left her home January 2013 to go on a trip she called "West Coast Tour". She traveled alone by train and buses. She wished to visit San Diego, Los Angeles, Santa Cruz, San Francisco, and San Luis Obispo, although she was unsure.
On 26th of January, she arrived in Los Angeles and checked in to Cecil Hotel (which was renamed to Stay on Main on 2011).
Cecil Hotel was constructed in 1924. It was built for business travelers. But later on, during the 1950's, it became a residence for transients.
The so-called hotel is famous for its gruesome history. They say that the Cecil Hotel or the Hotel Cecil which is its original name, was the home of many sex offenders and thugs. It also served as a residence of the two most notorious killers during the 19th century; Richard Ramirez aka the "Night Stalker" in 1985 and Jack Unterwerger in 1991.
There are also numerous suicides that happened here. Mostly- jumping.

Cecil Hotel is also the hotel where Elizabeth Short aka the "Black Dehlia" last checked in before she was brutally murdered.
Okay, so going back to Miss Lam's story.
Elisa Lam always kept in touch with her parents daily even though she's traveling. On January 31, the day she was scheduled to check out from the hotel and head to Santa Cruz, her parents did not hear from her. Little did they know, this is what happened.

Her behavior is creepy. It gave me nightmares. I always feel scared whenever I watch that video. :/
Well anyway, due to her behavior, nobody can say what really is the reason for her death. Some said she might be possessed because of the history of the hotel, or maybe she was murdered. Some also says that maybe she was just mentally-ill since she's been diagnosed with depression and bi-polarity. Some also says she's a victim of biological-related stuff.
When her parents reported to the L.A. police department, they immediately searched for her. After a week, they thought they needed more help, so they gave out flyers to people asking if they have seen the woman. This caught the attention of the public.
Her body wasn't found until the morning of February 19. Guests has been complaining about low water pressure. They also said it was discolored and "tasted funny".
One of the maintenance workers checked on the water tank and there is where they found Nam's bloated nude body, with her clothes and other belongings floating beside her.
Until now, nobody knows the reason how she died.
